Chocolate Lover's Special

In an e-Alert I sent you on Valentine's Day a couple of years ago, I told you about the Centara Spa in Bangkok, Thailand, that offered a special Valentine's Chocolate Lover's Special: a two-and-a-half hour treatment that included skin cleansing (with chopped orange and mineral salts), a dark chocolate full body wrap, a peppermint oil soak, and a massage.

Good enough to eat!

I just checked the Centara Spa web site and apparently the Chocolate Lover's Special isn't being offered this year. I wondered if anyone else might be promoting a chocolate massage, so I Googled "valentines" and "chocolate massage."

How many hits do you think I got? More than 800. To be honest, I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been more than 100,000 hits. But I guess chocolate massage isn't quite THAT popular.

In any case, it appears you can find chocolate massages for you and your Valentine from California to Massachusetts and many points in between. Supposedly, the skin enjoys benefits from the antioxidants in dark chocolate. I doubt there are any studies to back up that claim, but I'll bet that getting a chocolate rub down is healthier for you than eating a Hershey bar.

However you take your chocolate - happy Valentine's Day.
