I have two laughs to share with you today.

We'll start with this amusing comment from Steve James, Chairman of the California Milk Processor Board: "Milk's a simple solution to a common problem."

The problem Mr. James refers to is PMS symptoms. His statement was quoted on the Got Milk? web site in 2005 after the results of a study suggested that milk intake may lessen the severity of cramping, bloating, depression, and irritability associated with PMS.

Maybe it's just me, but I find this "simple" solution - loaded with antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers - to be laughable. Okay, it's not exactly "ha ha" funny. But the second laugh I have for you IS a genuine laugh. It's a TV ad the Got Milk? folks made, based on the 2005 study mentioned above. And you can watch the commercial by going to Michele Cagan's "HSI On the Spot" blog, located at this link: http://www.hsibaltimore.com/redir/blog.html

When you reach the blog, just look for "Quick Hits" (2/18/07) and you'll find out what lengths desperate men will go to.
