This coming Sunday, when most of us are asleep, something unique will happen.

I recently received this e-mail from a friend, forwarded many times: "For your information… At three minutes and four seconds after 2 AM on the 6th of May this year, the time and date will be 02:03:04 05/06/07. This will never happen again."

When it comes to math I'm not exactly Stephen Hawking, but I'm pretty sure this phenomenon will occur again in 3007. But maybe the person who originated this e-mail (it had been forwarded many times) was feeling pessimistic about the chance that the human race will survive another millennium.

So it's one of those tree-falls-in-a-forest questions: If the human race is gone and no calendars or digital clocks exist, will there still be a 02:03:04 05/06/07 a thousand years from now?
