Send Your Support How often do you get an opportunity to do something easy that makes you feel great while bringing comfort to others? About three years ago I first told you about Any Soldier, Inc., a grassroots organization that helps deliver useful items to U.S. soldiers stationed around the world. I was reminded just how important the work of Any Soldier is when I received this recent e- mail from an HSI member named Mary: "Thank you so much for the anysoldier.com site you sent me so long ago. Since then I have been sending packages and feel I have been doing the best I can to help make the stay of those men and women a little more comfortable. I tell everyone I know and strangers about the site and there are now quite a few people I know who are using it, including a friends son-in-law who is a teacher. He has the children in his class involved in making up packages. "One thing I found recently which has helped defray cost is the post office provides two boxes free and you can send it priority for a little over $8 and I stuff those boxes full as they can be as heavy as you can make them. In this era of maddening political contention, there's one issue that just about everyone can agree on: The men and women who are sacrificing so much in service to our country deserve enormous support.
